Today’s weak economy is changing the tattoo industry in terms of women’s tattoos trend. Although, the rate of women getting their first tattoos doesn’t seem to be decreasing, the amount of money women are spending on their tattoos is. Other emerging tattoo trends for women are celebrity name tattoos, especially popular these days Nicole Richie rosaries; vintage American tattoos such as skulls, hearts, stars, and anchors; Japanese (koi fish, ocean waves) styles; as well as a swing from English-style block lettering to fancier script letters.
